One of our most frequently asked questions is whether the police can pull you over for a minor thing, such as a broken tail light, and then investigate you for another thing, like drunk driving. Of course, you can be pulled over for any violation. But, unless the police reasonably suspect driving under the influence, the temporary detention may not continue.
