The federal government has mandated that states adopt new rules regarding OWI-DUI cases and commercial driver's licenses. Wisconsin instituted new rules effective 10/1/05. - One year to life CDL revocation for an alcohol or drug related driving offense, even if it occurred in a private vehicle.
- CDL Occupational permits are abolished.
- Effective 10/1/05, existing CDL occupational permits are cancelled.
- The above applies even to administrative suspensions.
